Apam Kampung
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup wheat flour
- 1/4 cup rice flour
- 3 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1/2 tablespoon yeast
- 1/2 cup + 2 tablespoon water
- 1 teaspoon cooking oil
- 3 1/2 tablespoon grated coconut
Instructions
- Mix all ingredients, except grated coconut, in a bowl.
- Beat mixture until texture becomes smooth and not lumpy.
- Grease a container of 24cmx13cm for baking.
- Pour mixture into the container. Set aside and let to rest for an hour.
- While waiting, prepare steamer and boil water.
- After an hour, place container into a steamer and steam for 40 minutes. Do not open lid of steamer during steaming.
- After steaming for 40 minutes, remove container from steamer and let appam to cool to room temperature.
- Remove appam from container and cut into 8 parts.
- Sprinkle half a tablespoon of grated coconut on each part of the appam and appam is now ready to be served.
